Routine maintenance
Routine maintenance of your teeth and gums is very important. Routine maintenance will help keep them in good health, diagnose disease at an early stage, and also decrease the chance of gum disease.
Here are some of the benefits of keeping to a regular dentist appointment schedule:
Fresh breath
This is the least serious but the most common issue for the public. Bad breath is usually caused by a combination of rotting food particles below the gum line, possible gangrene (caused by gum infection), and periodontal problems.
As we all know, no one wants to live with bad breath, so you need to see your dentist for regular checkups. With the removal of plaque, calculus and bacteria, you will see an improvement in bad breath, as well as the removal or any irritation. Your dentist will also be able to identify periodontal disease if it is present (often signified by persistent bad breath).
Tartar removal
Tartar and plaque buildup, both above and below the gum line, are the major causes of serious gum disease when they are left untreated. People can have gum problems even if they are regularly brushing and flossing, so it makes sense to check with your dentist on regular occasions. For example, there are times when some food debris cannot be removed with regular brushing, which means bacteria can form in the gum pockets.
Feel better when your teeth look better
Many people avoid smiling when they have yellow, stained teeth. There are now techniques that your dentist can use to remove unsightly stains and give you a smile to be proud of. If it’s been a while since your teeth cleaned, please give us a call at 561-394-9000. We will arrange an appointment with our hygienist to get them healthier and sparkling again.
